I enjoyed your site-your family is wonderful. My dd is hard of hearing, and has no lateral eye movement, due to Moebius syndrome. Through G*D''s grace, she grew to be an amazing pianist and won a scholarship to a terrific arts academy to further her study.
Thanks for sharing your link-I found your site through MDC.
Hello! I also am the mother of a profoundly hearing impaired child. She is now 8 yrs old. She was deaf since birth. With therapy and lots of love, encouragement and patience, she now speaks clearly. Yes she has an "accent", but can easly be understood by everyone. She reads lips SO well too! She is very good in school and very independant. I''m sure your son will be just as blessed.
It was inspiring to read your post to the abcgloss yahoo group about your sons. My deaf son''s name is Collin James ("CJ"). I encourge both parents to learn as much ASL as possible. My son''s friends are jealous cause my husband signs fairly well albeit slow. July 27th I begin teaching an ASL class in the community. I hope some parents of deaf/hard of hearing kids come to learn.
Welcome to the Z* family William! You are a handsome boy and I know your bunch is as thrilled to meet you as I am (even if it is from a far off). Grow happy and healthy! I can''t wait to tell Darci all about her new friend *smile*.
